- root your phone
- Ensure the phone starts up when the power cable is inserted Automated power on with charging cable plugged
- install automateit pro
In Automateit pro
- remove all rules and then add these new ones (NB program this with the power cable in, other wise one of the rules will have the system shutting down)
- Trigger: Battery level trigger below 15% Action: (composite action) 1. show notification (low battery) 2. screen brightness lower 3. screen timeout 15 seconds [this will force a shutdown in a later rule]
- Trigger: Battery level below 20% Action: Shutdown device Delayed Execution: 15 minutes Rule name: Battery low shutdown
- Trigger: External Power Disconnected Action: shutdown device Delayed execution: 30 seconds Cancel Delayed Execution: Power connected Rule Name: Power disconnected shutdown
- Trigger: Screen off Action: Shutdown device Delayed execution: 1 minute Cancel delayed execution: (composite OR) 1. Screen on 2. Power Connected Rule Name: Screen off shutdown [NB This is because the above rule may sometimes fail to run: if you turn off the car whilst the phone is still booting]
- Trigger: (composite AND) 1. Boot 2. External power connected Action: Start Application (navigation / Torque) Rule name: torque start
Next
- Remove the lock screen (set to none)
- set screen timeout to 5 minutes (under display - due to a few of the rules)
Because Samsung can't do Fastboot the above method won't work for charger. See Automated power on with charging cable plugged for information for Samsung phones.
